Performing Arts photography is how I got started. I was stage directing opera and wanted to get better photographs of my work, so I took up a camera. So, I have a long standing affinity for photographing theatre. When one of my team members, Cat, had to bow out of taking photographs for Pineland Players’ (Medford, NJ) upcoming production of Godspell she contacted me to fill in for her. She can’t take pictures because she’s in the show!
I had a wonderful time revisiting the musical I was first a part of waaaay back in 1987 when my local community theater in Texas presented it. I fell in love with the show, and even found myself singing along a few times while I was taking photographs.
Godspell is fun to photograph because there are visually so many beautiful moments in it. I actually overshot it a bit, because I couldn’t stop capturing moments that were not just visually appealing, but which had fun memories for me as well. I hope you enjoy the images!
