Founder and Principal Photographer
I have photographed hundreds of weddings on multiple continents. My humorous and fun approach to weddings, combined with my attention to the smallest of details all make me a highly sought-after wedding photographer, often booking years in advance.
My couples have raved about my ability to be everywhere and yet nowhere at the same time, remaining unobtrusive but capturing everything. They have jokingly called me such things as the "bride whisperer," a "wedding Swiss army knife," and "hey you, tall person" - but most of the time they just call me "friend." I take care of my couples and their guests, seeing to every detail and ensuring the day goes as smoothly as possible - even helping with things which have nothing to do with photography.
My images have been published in many industry online magazines and blogs, and I am highly recommended by many of the venues at which I frequently shoot. My love of telling wedding stories is evident in my imagery, and the care I give my couples is evident in the reviews they write.
Back in 2006 and 2007, I had been playing around with opera photography and doing head shots for performers. Eventually I was asked to shoot a wedding as a gift to someone and I just fell in love with it. I found that my background as an opera stage director, combined with my skills as a photographer shooting in challenging lighting environments, were both assets in wedding photography. After shooting a few weddings, I was completely hooked.
I am now a full time photographer and a member of Professional Photographers of America. I have photographed hundreds of weddings since my first solo wedding in 2008 and I have won many customer service awards in the wedding photography field. For my consistent high level of customer service, I was inducted into The Knot's "Best of Weddings" Hall of Fame in 2014 and have won "Best of Weddings" every single year since I first appeared on The Knot in 2010. I am also author of the book Balancing the Art and Business of Wedding Photography, available through various online retainers and the publisher's web site. A graduate of Rider University with a B.A. in Liberal Arts, I am occasionally an opera stage director and singer. I went full time with my photography studio in early 2013.
I grew up in The Woodlands, Texas but moved to New Jersey to attend Westminster Choir College as a Music Education major. There I met the woman who would eventually become my wife (only 16 years later). When we started dating and during the first couple of years of our marriage, we lived in New York City's Upper West Side. That is where I started photographing weddings. We moved to Medford, NJ in 2012 and have enjoyed the relative quiet of south Jersey ever since.
We are still involved in music professionally, through various activities such as our caroling group The Village Carolers.
